I was brought on this title with the hope of creating a 3d rig for our lead artist. The rigging was created in Maya and included IK/FK switching as well as a meta rig with custom shapes. As an added touch, I included special morphs and bones to give the pig personality as well. For instance there was a special bone to allow the our pig to shake his booty.
During the process I also optimized the topology for animation and did extensive weight painting to create the most natural looking deformations. I also had never had the chance to create an ik/fk switch rig with Maya. I was a told this would be a wish list feature but took it as a personal challenge. We were very pressed for time because GDC was right around the corner and if this didn't get done in time, the game would not be able to be shown. I got this done in time to be animated and successfully shown at GDC. I wanted to include this game as an example of my dedication to the team and going beyond what's expected of me.
